Job Summary The Engine Systems Cooling Engineer will design, develop, validate, and release cooling components throughout the vehicle development lifecycle. Components may include cooling module assemblies such as radiators, condensers, and electric fan assemblies, as well as transmission oil coolers, high- and low-pressure hose and tube assemblies, electric coolant heaters, valves, and pumps. Components will be developed using engineering best practices and methodologies, including CAE, System Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), and Design Validation Plans and Reports (DVP&R). Responsibilities Responsible for a set of cooling components potentially in all stages of vehicle development. Lead early packaging and development of components to meet cooling functional objectives. Coordinate CAE analysis, design, prototyping, testing, and documentation of development activities. Work closely with suppliers to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and track supplier progress to ensure part maturity and component development milestones are met. Support vehicle assembly and vehicle testing and resolve technical issues discovered with the components. Address quality concerns and potential cost-reduction opportunities after vehicle launch. Collaborate cross-functionally with design, CAE, testing, manufacturing, and supplier teams throughout the product development lifecycle. Must-Have Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in automotive product development, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering field. Experience with engine cooling, thermal management, heat exchangers, coolant systems, HVAC systems, fluid systems, or related automotive cooling components. Experience supporting components through the product development lifecycle, including design, development, validation, testing, and launch. Experience with CAD software, such as CATIA, NX, Creo, SolidWorks, or similar. Knowledge of engineering validation and testing processes. Experience conducting root cause analysis and resolving technical issues. Ability to work cross-functionally with design, CAE, testing, manufacturing, and suppliers. Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills. Nice-to-Have Qualifications Experience with radiators, condensers, electric fan assemblies, transmission oil coolers, coolant hoses/tubes, valves, pumps, or electric coolant heaters. Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, GD&T, and APQP. Experience supporting vehicle testing and launch activities. Experience working directly with suppliers and managing component development milestones. Exposure to CAE analysis and thermal performance evaluations. Bachelor's degree, Associate's degree, or technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
