Richmond, VA:
We are in need of a talented individual to take on the role of New Product Development / Design to Value (NPD/DTV) Engineer. This person will be responsible for creating refrigerated merchandisers and implementing cost reduction strategies for our existing product lines.
Responsibilities include:
Utilizing value engineering methods to improve cost efficiency of current products. Working closely with Strategic Sourcing and Manufacturing Engineering teams to execute cost-saving initiatives. Overseeing DTV projects from start to finish, including scheduling and communication across departments. Generating creative solutions for product standardization and modularity. Creating CAD models and engineering simulations for proposed concepts. Collaborating with Product Management to validate solutions with customers. Developing test plans and coordinating with the Engineering Lab for validation. Conducting field tests to ensure solution effectiveness. Managing multiple projects and solving complex problems efficiently.
Basic qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering. 1-3 years of experience in industrial product design.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with product design and solid modeling in a manufacturing setting. Knowledge of refrigeration, air conditioning, and similar design principles. Experience with Six Sigma and Lean methodologies. Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. For success in this role, you should have: Proven experience in NPD and DTV projects. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with complex products. Strong communication and influencing skills within cross-functional teams. Innovative thinking to meet customer requirements. Organizational skills for project reporting. Proficiency in MCAD modeling. Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
