78303 Description This position is for a co-op in the filter design team at Skyworks Irvine Site. You'll be working as part of an elite team of RF professionals creating the technology for next-generation cellular handsets and other wireless communication devices and applications. Your job function will focus primarily on improving the design efficiency of acoustic filters, including SAW and BAW technology, for RF front-end modules.
Co-op Term:
Winter/Spring (January to June 2027) Responsibilities style="list-style-type:disc
  • -Design acoustic wave filters for integration into RF modules, while meeting demanding schedules, best in class performance, and critical size and cost requirements with guidance and mentorship from senior engineers style="list-style-type:disc
  • -Follow Skyworks best engineering practices to ensure reliability, sustainability, and delivery of a high production yield style="list-style-type:disc
  • -Work closely with module and systems teams to set appropriate goals for filter performance criteria Required Experience and Skills style="list-style-type:disc
  • -Must be a current student majoring in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Must be willing to work onsite in Irvine for 6 month co-op term style="list-style-type:disc
  • -Understanding of RF fundamentals such as impedance matching, distributed systems, passive RLC and resonant circuits, noise, linearity, bandwidth and stability style="list-style-type:disc
  • -Prior experience in EM simulation of RF systems style="list-style-type:disc
  • -Strong circuit simulation skills utilizing Agilent ADS/Cadence and 2.5/3D EM tools such as Momentum or HFSS. Desired Experience and Skills style="list-style-type:disc
  • -Currently pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related field. style="list-style-type:disc
  • -Ability to develop stand-alone engineering tools/scripts via Python and/or MATLAB. style="list-style-type:disc
  • -Understanding of cellular RF systems The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00
  • $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50

00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
