Job Description
RF/Microwave Engineer Job Description:
This position is for a self-motivated RF/microwave engineer to develop and package RF front-ends for transmit and receive systems. This involves the design, simulation, fabrication, integration, and characterization of narrow and broadband antennas as well as phased arrays. The position also requires the integration and characterization of LNAs, MPAs, filters and transmission lines. As a team member, this RF/microwave engineer will work across different projects and project teams that are involved in millimeter wave system design/build, packaging and testing. The ideal candidate is a self-driven problem solver, capable of working independently through technical challenges and meeting pressing timelines. The RF/microwave engineer is responsible for:- Design and simulate RF/microwave antennas and their integration with LNAs and MPAs that can be cascaded within a compact module package to provide higher RF gain.
- Generate design layout for millimeter wave up-conversion modules.
- Integration and packaging of millimeter wave up-conversion modules in association with team members.
- Test, characterize and diagnose operational problems within RF/microwave circuits.
- Communicate with team members to optimize overall system performance.
- Keep current with leading technical innovations and apply them to improve system design and operation. Qualifications and Skills
- Compliance with ITAR requirements
- RF/microwave simulation and characterization experience
- BS and/or masters degree in electrical engineering with EM background
- Competent in the use of HFSS or equivalent high frequency microwave circuit simulation tools
- Experience with RF characterization equipment such as VNAs, PSGs, and ESAs.
- Able to problem solve and troubleshoot independently
- Good communication skills and team working mindset
