Role Overview We are looking for a Robotics Controls Engineer (3+ years experience) to design and tune the core control architectures powering our 200+ ton autonomous haul trucks . You will tackle complex navigation, localization, and control challenges in remote, unstructured, and GPS-compromised mining environments.

What You Will Do Control Systems Architecture:

Design, implement, and fine-tune control algorithms (MPC, PID) to manage massive haul trucks across fluctuating payloads and steep terrain grades.

State Estimation & Localization:

Build robust estimation pipelines fusing GPS/RTK, IMU, and alternative sensors to maintain precise tracking during frequent GPS dropouts.

Vehicle Dynamics:

Own the longitudinal, lateral, and steering control systems to ensure safe and accurate path following.

Field Testing & Diagnostics:

Analyze real-world performance through physical truck testing and log replays to debug control loops and isolate root causes.

Cross-Functional Integration:

Partner closely with perception, planning, and hardware engineering teams to deploy production-ready systems.

Site Deployment:

Travel up to 15% to remote customer mining sites for live testing, calibration, and deployment.

What We Are Looking For Experience:

3+ years of professional experience developing controls for heavy machinery or autonomous vehicles.

Domain Expertise:

Strong background in mining autonomy (e.g., experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hexagon systems) is highly valued, though general AV backgrounds are welcome.

Technical Depth:

Proven track record with vehicle dynamics, sensor fusion, state estimation, and control theory (MPC, PID).
