Job Description
This client is a robotics focused mechanical engineering company right outside the Greater Boston area. They build advanced automated systems that combine mechanical design, sensing, and motion control into high performing machines. They are hiring a full-time Principal Engineer that is onsite 5 days per week. You will work across mechanical system design actuation strategy, CAD, GD&T, FEA, and PLM workflows. You will be working with cross-functional engineering teams to make key architectural decisions and ensure the mechanical system is not just well designed, but manufacturable, reliable, and production ready. Required Skills & Experience 8 + years of mechanical engineering experience in robotics robotics/automation Track record of taking electro-mechanical products from early concept through production Solid understanding of motion systems including motors, actuators, and integrated sensing Proficiency in 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Onshape Strong command of engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing Familiarity with product lifecycle workflows including BOM management and revision control Comfortable working hand-on with hardware to troubleshoot and refine designs Desired Skills & Experience MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering Experience owning or influencing system-level design in robotics or automation platforms Strong background design for manufacturing and production ready system design Proficiency in analytical tools such at MATLAB or Python for system modeling What You Will Be Doing Tech Breakdown 45% System architecture and Mechanical Design Leadership 30% Design and Validation 20% Cross-Functional Engineering Collaboration Daily Responsibilities 55% Hands On 20% Management Duties 25% Team Collaboration Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis now and in the future.
