Job Description
Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer specializing in Robotics and Automation to join our innovative engineering team. This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing robotic systems and automated machinery to enhance manufacturing processes and product development. The ideal candidate will leverage advanced mechanical engineering principles, CAD modeling, and control systems expertise to deliver cutting-edge solutions that improve efficiency, precision, and reliability across various industrial applications. Duties Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for robotics and automation systems utilizing CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo. Conduct mechanical drafting, 3D modeling, and detailed drawings adhering to ASME codes & standards. Perform tolerance analysis and finite element analysis (FEA) to ensure structural integrity and optimal performance of mechanical designs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing specialists to integrate system components effectively. Develop schematics, mechanical drawings, and machine design specifications for manufacturing and assembly. Conduct root cause analysis on mechanical failures or performance issues within robotic or automated systems. Manage project schedules, coordinate milestones, and ensure timely delivery of engineering product development projects. Utilize simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink and LabVIEW for system design validation. Support manufacturing processes by creating detailed technical documentation, including mechanical detail drawings and system schematics. Apply knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure precision in mechanical components. Engage in building information modeling (BIM) tools when applicable for integrated project planning. Participate in testing, troubleshooting, and refining robotic systems using tools like Arduino or CNC machinery. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications in quantum engineering or automation are a plus. Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with a focus on robotics or automation projects. Strong proficiency with CAD software including SolidWorks, Creo, and other 3D CAD modeling tools. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), system design, and control integration. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, mechanical product development projects, and machine design principles. Familiarity with engineering standards such as ASME codes & standards; experience with GD&T is essential. Competence in conducting tolerance analysis, FEA simulations, and root cause analysis. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Effective cross-functional communication skills for collaboration across diverse teams. Experience with simulation software such as MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, or similar platforms is highly desirable. Practical knowledge of CNC machining, drafting practices, and building information modeling (BIM) tools enhances suitability.
