Job Description
Controls & Automation Engineer Description We are seeking an experienced Controls & Automation Engineer with a strong background in industrial automation, controls systems, and manufacturing equipment. In this hands-on role, you will integrate, test, commission, and support automated manufacturing systems that improve safety, reliability, quality, and production efficiency. The ideal candidate has experience with PLC programming, HMI development, robotics, motion control, industrial networking, and system integration. You will work closely with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, technicians, and operations teams to develop, troubleshoot, and optimize automated equipment throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities Develop, program, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and industrial control systems. Integrate controls hardware and software with robotics, conveyors, vision systems, sensors, servo drives, and manufacturing equipment. Perform system integration, I/O checkout, functional testing, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and equipment validation. Commission new automation systems and support equipment startups at customer and manufacturing facilities. Diagnose electrical, controls, communication, and automation issues using structured troubleshooting techniques. Develop and modify PLC logic, HMI screens, control narratives, electrical documentation, and system configuration files. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability, throughput, and maintainability. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams during equipment design, build, installation, and startup. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for equipment failures and process issues. Ensure automation systems comply with applicable safety standards and engineering best practices. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred. 5+ years of hands-on experience with industrial controls, automation, and manufacturing systems. Strong experience programming and troubleshooting PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley (Rockwell), Siemens, Beckhoff, or Omron. Experience with
