MacKay is seeking a CAD Drafter to join our team. This role assists survey staff in preparation of supporting data for land survey projects. Conducts, analyzes and delivers specialized data for projects. You will work closely with our team of field surveyors and Professional Land Surveyors to help deliver land development and other civil engineering projects. Keys to
Success:
Perform construction staking calculations, easement drafting, and mapping. Apply survey information and reduce field notes to layout and draft designs and drawings for projects. Perform base mapping, overlay preparation, and work on storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, and street design projects, including review site plans, layouts and publication mockups. Review and conduct field check data for compliance with jurisdictional codes, to ensure survey standards are met. Work with close supervision to complete a variety of office or field work as assigned such as preparing data, charts, plots, maps, records and documents related to surveys. Provide support to other departments such as preparing computer generated maps and exhibits. Prepare and maintain accurate survey and engineering records in support of licensed staff. Develop knowledge of federal, state, and local rules, laws, and regulations regarding survey. Occasional field work, including out of town travel.Qualifications:
Associate's Degree or technical certification in a relevant field such as engineering, surveying or construction management, or experience considered sufficient to address the demands of the position Minimum 2+ years combined school and/or work experience with preference given to those who have in-field survey experience Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D Experience with Trimble Business Center preferred. Ability to take high-quality notes and organize information Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Excellent computer, writing, communication and customer service skills Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Why Join MacKay? Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as various market and business considerations.
