Job Title:
Survey Data Technician About the Role & Company We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Survey Data Technician to join our team in supporting large-scale infrastructure and linear energy projects across the country. In this critical technical role, you will serve as the essential link between our field operations and final client deliverables, handling the daily processing, administration, and coordination of incoming survey data. This is a strictly office-based, highly technical position where your sharp eye for detail ensures our project teams receive pristine, accurate data frameworks, keeping our operations moving forward efficiently. Office Locations & Travel Flexibility We are actively recruiting talent to support projects across our national footprint, including our established regional offices: •Arundel, ME Edgewood, KY Magnolia Springs, AL Mooresville, NC (Corporate Headquarters) Traverse City, MI Summerville, SC Some Travel may be required for this role. Essential Responsibilities (Data Management & CAD Execution) As a Survey Data Technician, you will review incoming daily field data to verify its accuracy, completeness, and strict compliance with our project specifications and quality control standards. You will immediately identify and document any field data inconsistencies or omissions, collaborating directly with Project Managers, Field Supervisors, and Survey Crew Chiefs to achieve quick resolutions. Daily operational duties include utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D to import field codes, manage survey points, develop accurate surface models, and draft final project deliverables. You will assist with data processing for route surveys, boundary analysis, and construction layouts, while helping prepare survey plats, alignment drawings, and right-of-way legal descriptions. Additionally, you will support the production team by conducting in-depth deed research, gathering record maps, and executing deed plotting to establish baseline project boundaries. You will keep our digital house in order by organizing and maintaining clean, secure, and logical file structures for all incoming field data, active drawings, and final archives, all while maintaining open, consistent communication across field and office teams to meet client demands, project timelines, and technical tolerances. Qualifications & Requirements Candidates must demonstrate strong proficiency in AutoCAD drafting, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and standard Microsoft Office applications. Candidates must be able to work on Continental United States (CONUS) infrastructure projects. A valid driver's license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are mandatory. Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and a standard 7-year background check and possess the flexibility and willingness to travel occasionally for training sessions or project team meetings. Physical Demands & Work Environment This position involves frequent extended sitting while performing detailed data processing and intensive CAD modeling. Candidates must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds, such as physical project files, large-format plan sets, or plotting materials. Work is performed indoors in a professional, collaborative office environment during standard business hours, requiring strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for continuous computer work and operating precision drafting software.
