Job Title:
CAD Technician Job Description We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician responsible for the preparation of survey plats and maps, including boundary surveys, as-built surveys, topographic surveys, and utility route surveys. This role requires meeting the requirements of various agencies such as VDOT, USACE, and NAVFAC. Assignments may vary and will be communicated by the office manager. Responsibilities include project management, court house research, data processing from survey crews, CAD file preparation, construction staking calculations, and occasional field work. Responsibilities Prepare survey plats and maps, including boundary, as-built, topographic, and utility route surveys. Meet the requirements of various agencies such as VDOT, USACE, and NAVFAC. Manage individual projects and conduct courthouse research. Process data collected by survey crews and prepare CAD files. Perform construction staking calculations. Participate in occasional field work. Essential Skills Minimum of 5 years of surveying-related experience. Proficient in using Carlson and AutoCAD Civil 3D. Experience using or exposure to MicroStation with GeoPak and/or OpenRoads. Satisfactory completion of a Survey/CAD related degree from an accredited institution, which may substitute for two years of required experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to work with minimal supervision to complete projects with demanding scopes and schedules. Work Environment The role involves worksharing, which may require temporary assignments to other office projects, necessitating travel, including potential weekend stays. The individual must be willing and able to travel throughout Virginia and surrounding states and work overtime as needed. Offices are located in Virginia, Maryland, and Florida.
