A Surveying or Mapping Technician works with surveyors and cartographers to gather data and create maps. Visits sites and records survey measurements and descriptive data. Selects data needed to create maps, including photos, aerial photos and satellite information, and helps produce and update maps that show boundaries or topographical information.

Description:
Key responsibilities include: Prepare survey drawings, plats, maps, and exhibits using Carlson, AutoCAD, or similar CADD software Process and interpret field survey data to produce accurate and high-quality deliverables Collaborate with licensed surveyors, engineers, and field crews throughout project execution Assist with legal descriptions, survey reports, and project documentation Organize and maintain survey data, drawings, and project files Help identify and resolve data discrepancies while supporting efficient project delivery
Requirements:
Two or more years of land surveying or survey CADD experience, or an associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field Proficiency with AutoCAD, Carlson, or similar CADD software Working knowledge of survey field procedures and construction stakeout Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and collaboration skills A commitment to quality, continuous learning, and being a positive member of a team
