Job Description

Field Survey Technician / Surveyor | $23 to $25 per hour depending on experience| Richmond, VA 22911 (Full time travel required) Are you an experienced Survey Technician who is confident working independently in the field? Would you like the flexibility of keeping a work truck at home and receiving your daily assignments remotely? The Role Meridian Civil Survey is looking for a dependable Field Survey Technician / Surveyor to join our team. This is a field-based position suited to someone who can work independently, manage their own schedule and equipment, and complete a variety of land surveying assignments across Central Virginia. You will receive instructions remotely by email and phone and travel directly to project sites using a company-provided work truck, which can be kept at your home. This role requires 100% full time travel. Key Responsibilities Be able to keep a work truck at your home. Be responsible for the care of the truck and equipment, including taking the truck for maintenance when required. Work remotely and receive instructions by email and phone. Be familiar with Dropbox. Use Trimble S5 Total Station and TSC S4 data collectors or newer. Follow standard survey procedures, including control loops and open traverse lines. Complete topographic, ALTA, physical and construction stakeout surveys. Be able to work independently. Maintain a good work ethic. The Person Experience with standard land surveying procedures. Experience with multiple survey types, including topographic, ALTA, physical, and construction stakeout. Familiarity with Trimble S5 Total Stations and TSC4 data collectors or newer. Familiarity with Dropbox. The ability to follow instructions remotely and work independently. A strong work ethic.
