What they do
A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Truxaw and Associates is growing and seeking a Survey Crew Chief to join our team! We are one of the leading Civil Engineering and Land Surveying firms in Southern California. We provide full-service design and engineering for private and public clients on commercial and residential development projects. Job Requirements:
Valid CA Driver's License in good standing. Authorized to work in the United States Familiarity with Trimble Robotic Total Station and Trimble GPS Equipment. Ability to direct survey tasks in the field. Conduct land surveys using GPS equipment and traditional surveying methods Possess excellent communication skills. Be experienced in reading engineering plans and survey maps. Experience recovering boundary monuments, performing boundary surveys, collecting topographic data and performing construction staking. Proficient in processing field data, keeping field notes, preparing sketches. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus. Occasional overnight travel may be required. California PLS or LSIT in pursuit of PLS a plus. Minimum 3 years as a survey crew chief required.
