Job Description

About the Company We are an established land surveying firm with more than 40 years of experience providing professional surveying services. We are seeking a motivated, experienced, and dependable Land Surveyor - Party Chief to lead field survey crews and ensure the accurate and efficient completion of a variety of surveying projects. The ideal candidate will have strong field experience, excellent communication skills, the ability to lead a crew, and a commitment to accuracy, safety, and quality workmanship. Position Responsibilities The Land Surveyor - Party Chief will perform a variety of technical and skilled surveying duties in the field, including: Lead and supervise field survey crews in the completion of land surveying projects. Operate and maintain modern surveying equipment, including Trimble GPS, robotic total stations, and digital levels. Perform field measurements and collect accurate survey data. Prepare thorough and accurate field notes, sketches, and reports in accordance with company procedures and industry standards. Review field data for completeness and accuracy. Communicate effectively with project managers, office personnel, clients, contractors, and other field personnel. Complete and submit accurate daily timesheets for the crew. Promote and maintain a safe, professional, and productive work environment. Types of Surveying Projects The position may involve a variety of surveying assignments, including: Construction Staking Topographic Surveys Boundary Surveys
ALTA/NSPS
Land Title Surveys Hydrographic Surveys Construction and development projects Other general land surveying assignments Physical Requirements This position requires working outdoors and the ability to perform physically demanding fieldwork in a variety of environments and weather conditions. Candidates must be physically capable of: Working for extended periods in hot and humid conditions. Working around heavy construction equipment. Walking and working on steep or uneven terrain. Working in and around open trenches and canals. Performing fieldwork from boats when required. Operating or riding ATVs as necessary to access project sites. Performing other physical activities associated with land surveying and field operations.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
Previous experience in land surveying. Experience leading or working as part of a professional survey crew. Ability to operate surveying equipment safely and accurately. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Dependable work ethic and professional attitude. Valid driver's license. Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening.
Preferred:
Experience with Trimble surveying equipment. Experience with AutoCAD. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related computer applications. Previous experience as a Party Chief or Crew Chief. $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
