Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join our dynamic surveying team. In this role, you will lead land surveying projects with precision and expertise, utilizing advanced surveying equipment and software to gather accurate data for a variety of civil engineering, construction, and land development projects. Your expertise will ensure the creation of detailed topographic maps, boundary surveys, and construction plans that meet legal and technical standards. Duties Lead and manage land surveying teams in the field and office to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met. Operate and calibrate advanced surveying equipment such as GPS units, 3D scanners, Trimble systems, and total stations for precise data collection. Conduct boundary surveys, ALTA surveys (American Land Title Association), topographic mapping, construction surveys, and legal description preparations. Utilize CAD software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, Carlson, and ArcGIS to draft schematics, construction plans, and detailed mapping documents. Perform data analysis using GIS (Geographic Information Systems), Trigonometry, Algebra, Geometry, and Math principles to ensure accuracy in survey results. Manage project documentation including survey reports, field notes, boundary descriptions, and survey data for legal compliance. Collaborate with civil engineers and project managers to develop schematics and construction plans that align with project specifications. Requirements Valid Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or equivalent certification recognized in the relevant jurisdiction. Extensive experience with land surveying techniques including GPS surveying, boundary determination, topographic mapping, and construction staking. Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, Carlson; experience with ArcGIS is a plus. Strong knowledge of GIS applications, 3D scanners, Trimble equipment operation, and other modern surveying tools. Solid understanding of civil engineering principles related to land development projects. Ability to interpret schematics, legal descriptions, construction plans, and technical drawings accurately. Excellent skills in managing surveying teams and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously. Strong math skills including Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry necessary for precise calculations in field data collection. Experience in managing mapping or surveying teams with a focus on quality assurance and safety standards.
