What they do

A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Experience:
Senior Level Salary:
$120,000 - $145,000 per year Job Details - Perform and oversee a variety of land surveying projects. Prepare and review boundary, topographic, and statutory surveys. Complete property line closures and boundary determinations. Research deeds, land records, survey documents, and title information. Prepare sketches, maps, legal descriptions, and survey reports. Verify survey data, calculations, and field information. Coordinate with engineering teams to provide existing conditions and construction support. Develop project schedules and ensure survey deliverables meet client expectations and deadlines. Maintain project documentation and quality standards. Attend municipal meetings or public hearings as required. Ensure compliance with applicable surveying regulations and industry standards. Qualifications Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in the State of Massachusetts. 5+ years of professional land surveying experience. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying or a related field preferred. Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Carlson Survey. Strong understanding of boundary analysis, legal descriptions, and survey calculations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
