Build Your Career with Soltesz Soltesz is seeking an experienced and dependable Land Survey Crew Chief to join our team in Lanham, Maryland. This position is an excellent opportunity for a skilled surveying professional who enjoys leading field crews, working with modern survey equipment, and contributing to civil engineering and land development projects throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The Land Survey Crew Chief will provide technical support to the Director of Surveys and Field Coordinator, direct the daily activities of field technicians, and help ensure that survey work is completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with applicable company standards, state requirements, and industry practices. What You'll Do Provide technical support to the Director of Surveys and Field Coordinator Lead and provide day-to-day guidance to survey field technicians Direct smaller projects under the supervision of the Director of Surveys Perform field survey activities in accordance with company standards, state requirements, and surveying industry practices Promote a safety-focused work environment by ensuring that crew members follow established safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment Oversee the condition, organization, inventory, loading, and maintenance of the crew vehicle and survey equipment Direct the crew's use of equipment, preparation of field sketches and notes, and electronic data collection Supervise the daily downloading of data collector information Prepare daily data logs, topographic and staking reports, and field change orders What You'll Bring At least five years of experience working as part of a survey field crew High school diploma or equivalent Proficiency in trigonometry and basic surveying computations Experience operating and working with total stations, data collectors, GPS equipment, and associated software Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures Ability to walk on project sites and lift up to 50 pounds Valid driver's license Why Join Soltesz?
