What they do

A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Job Description

CESI is looking for a Survey Crew Chief for its Concord, NC office to provide leadership for the field crew, collect field data, and transfer the field data to the office in a precise and concise manner. Why Work for

Vacation and Sick Days Job Snapshot:
Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and controlling field operations for projects Report to the Project Manager each morning and afternoon for job status and assignments Perform various types of surveys utilizing robotic total stations and GPS methods Make sure time sheets are filled out daily with correct job number and job codes Report any defective equipment that need repair Report any accidents or damage to the President or Vice President Report personal mileage for vehicle to CESI Controller upon request Get service orders signed on the day the work is performed and turn them into the Project Manager Ensure that all necessary field equipment, field supplies, and safety equipment to perform the day's tasks are in the truck and operating properly Report any problems with crew members to the Project Manager Other duties as assigned Qualifications Must have a minimum of 1 year surveying experience Must have experience with computer drafting programs Must understand mapping concepts Must have ability to work outdoors Must have experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D Must have experience with GPS Authorized to work in the United States Company Description CESI is a 100% employee-owned company with a great team of welcoming and experienced individuals.
