A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Job Description

Overview:
At Morgan, we don't just build projects, we build careers and futures! Join us as a SURVEYORS and play a pivotal role in our dynamic world of heavy civil construction! We are currently accepting applications to support multiple projects in the Nevada and Southwest, USA Region.
Rotation :
Project dependent, most commonly 6/1 or 14/7
Shift :
12 Hours (Days and Nights)
Lodging & Food:
Living / Subsistence Allowance will be provided. All Morgan Field Based Workers and Equipment Operators must Be physically conditioned to repetitively and safely lift up to 50lbs. Work a rotational schedule, up to 12 hours a day, for both day or night shifts as required and subject to change depending on project needs. Expect to handle noise and vibrations on the job. Be prepared for and willing to perform additional labour duties as / when required. Embrace the elements by working outdoors in all weather conditions. Whether it's rain, shine, or snow, you'll need to thrive in diverse weather environments. Duties and Responsibilities Perform Survey functions in support of Project Scope mandate. Day to day field staking in accordance with project design. Quantity pick-up and calculation. Effectively communicates proper layout information to relevant parties in a timely manner. Troubleshoot survey layout and machine control data onsite; ensure data is correct and updated. Troubleshoot and repair all survey equipment. Communicate with Design Engineers regarding project design. Adhere to project specifications and guidelines to maintain quality standards. Communicate effectively with supervisors, other operators, and site personnel to ensure smooth operations. Champion our safety culture by adhering to Morgan's Safe Work Procedures and PPE policies by demonstrating a strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures. Maintain awareness of the surrounding environment and potential hazards, such as other equipment or personnel. Perform JSA and FLHA's as required. Demonstrate exceptional judgement and problem solving skills. Demonstrating versatility in collaborating effectively with team members and independently taking ownerships of tasks. Operate 2-way radio Other duties as / when assigned Experience / Qualification Requirements Our ideal candidates will have: Extensive GPS Construction layout experience using Trimble or Topcon equipment Post-Secondary Education in a surveyor program from an accredited technical school would be an asset. High School Diploma is required. Have or be willing to obtain OSHA 10-Construction and OSHA 40 Hazwoper certifcates if required by the project scope Minimum of 2 years exp erience
