What they do

A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

  • Surveying experience in heavy civil construction industry
  • Experience overseeing own jobs with strong leadership skills
  • Convert digital plans to surface files with CAD
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and proven organizational skills A successful candidate will possess the following:
  • 3-5 years direct experience in heavy/highway construction industry
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules
  • Ability to oversee the entire process and work independently
  • Must have experience with multi-million-dollar projects
