May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Fechko Excavating is a commercial excavating and professional surveying company specializing in mass earthwork and the installation of water lines, storm sewers, and sanitary sewers for municipalities, commercial developments, and residential subdivisions. With those values in mind, together we continue to grow a reputation that is paramount. Headquartered in Medina County, we are seeking an experienced
CAD TECHNICIAN
to join our team of high performers. What you'll do:
  • Produce detailed and precise 3D surface models from 2D plans and specifications for the construction of large scale site and roadway improvement projects via GPS controlled heavy equipment.
  • Produce Digital Terrain Model (DTM), Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN), Alignment and Sections files to evaluate construction scopes and prepare projects for active construction.
  • Work collaboratively with the firm's estimating and project management personnel to provide assistance and other CADD related deliverables needed to prepare project cost estimates, construction sequencing plans, value engineering evaluations.
  • Work collaboratively with the firm's survey department to produce coordinate files, road alignments, topographical survey evaluations and other deliverables in support of survey and construction field operations.
  • Interface with engineering firms, developers, authorities and other project stakeholders to resolve issues during the project life cycle.
  • Manage and maintain file databases. What you'll need:
  • Skill in mathematics including percentages, algebra, plane and solid geometry, trigonometry.
  • Knowledge of basic engineering principles and techniques, as well as basic construction methods and planning procedures.
  • Ability to read and comprehend engineered drawing and specifications.
  • Minimum five years of experience using AutoCAD software to prepare drawings. Knowledge of SurvCADD a plus.
  • Keen attention to detail while productively managing work load and goals.
  • Self-motivation with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team or autonomously.
  • Desire to continuously improve and produce results.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills and ability to prioritize and balance workload to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Hands-on work style, with a team oriented and "can-do" enthusiastic attitude.
  • Intermediate computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • BA/BS degree preferred.

Pay:
$65,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
