In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive site assessments to evaluate the feasibility and optimal placement for photovoltaic (solar) systems. Your expertise will ensure that each project meets safety standards, technical specifications, and client expectations. Duties Perform detailed site surveys, including roof assessments and ground evaluations, to determine suitability for photovoltaic system installation. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to solar projects. Utilize hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other construction equipment safely during site inspections. Identify potential electrical hazards by assessing high voltage and low voltage systems in accordance with NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70 compliance standards. Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting of existing electrical systems on-site to verify system integrity and identify issues. Document site conditions thoroughly through photographs, measurements, and detailed reports for project planning. Collaborate with installation teams, electricians, roofing contractors, and project managers to ensure accurate data collection and smooth project execution. Adhere strictly to electrical safety procedures during outdoor work environments, including proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Assist in fixture installation planning by providing accurate site data for optimal placement of solar panels and related equipment. Operate forklifts or other construction machinery as needed in support of site preparation activities. Qualifications Proven experience working as a solar technician or in electrical diagnostics within the renewable energy or construction industry. Strong knowledge of photovoltaic system installation processes, electrical blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and troubleshooting electrical systems. Hands-on experience with high voltage and low voltage electrical systems; familiarity with NEC standards and NFPA 70 regulations. Commercial electrician experience is highly desirable, along with roofing or construction site experience. Ability to read blueprints accurately and use ladders safely for roof assessments or elevated work. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, power drills, and other relevant equipment for electrical work. Outdoor work experience in various weather conditions with a focus on safety protocols. Valid certifications related to electrical safety procedures; NFPA 70 compliance knowledge preferred. Experience operating forklifts or similar machinery is a plus.
