A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Full Job Description Job Purpose:
The Construction Surveyor provides construction stakeout tasks, along with other related construction surveying needs such as as-builts.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures Acquire project CAD files from design engineers on record Maintain/service all gear assigned to the survey truck Work closely with PM's, Superintendents, and foreman to provide their survey needs to meet their construction schedules Proficient with CAD, data collectors, and robotic total station Proficient with reading project plans and specifications Perform all construction surveying duties to today's standard practices Verification of Shop drawings prior to releasing for fabrication Performs additional duties as assigned Education, Skills and/or
Work Experience Requirements:
Minimum 3 years' construction stake out experience utilizing CAD, Data Collectors w/stake out software, and robotic total stations Experience in the field working on various civil construction projects preferred Excellent communication skills, organization skills, and attendance Positive, I Can Do attitude with team player mentality Ability to adapt and overcome daily changes in schedules
