What they do

A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Qualified applicants will assist project teams in managing construction projects/ including all phases from bidding to final completion. A s s ignments include office and job site; relocation to a remote sites may be required. Tr a nsportation is required. Wo r k periods are 10-14 weeks; 40 hours/week. Relationship:
Depending on the work assignment, interns will report to a project manager, superintendent, project engineer or field engineer. You may be assigned to the office, jobsite or mix of both. T a sks
Assigned:
You will be learning the engineering and technical aspects of the project both in the field and in the office. Your experience will include some or all the following: Q u a ntity take-off La y out Pr e construction/as-built surveys Sh o p drawing & submittal review/approval & maintenance of log. Re q uest for information (RFI) review/submission/response & maintenance of log. In t erfacing with subcontractors & suppliers At t ending weekly progress & coordination meetings As s isting with coordinating the work between the owner, architect & subcontractors As s isting during the bid process with things such as subcontractor outreach/solicitation, bid package development, bid review & verification, etc. As s ist with reviewing construction documents & specifications. As s isting with reviewing all document revisions & clarifications As s isting with maintaining field records As s isting with estimates/budgets/value engineering/constructability surveys Ass ist with writing subcontracts & purchase orders. As s isting with preparing billings change orders for owner As s isting with verification & approval of invoices As s isting with ordering & expediting materials As s isting with quality control & safety management, including inspections, tool box talks, project-specific program review & development, first work inspections and documentation. As s isting with managing subcontracts As s isting with permit process As s isting with performing scheduling, estimating & project management Pu n chlist & project closeout Co o perating & working with field project management As s isting with developing monthly reports As s isting with site logistics plan development and implementation Ve r ifying and tracking work progress and field productivity An d any other duties that may be assigned R e q uired Skills T ec hnical Capabilities You
