Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Job Description

TRB + Associates is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Plan Review Engineer with a minimum of five (5) years of experience performing plan reviews of commercial, industrial, and residential projects. Locations:
Southern California Regions Essential job duties and responsibilities of the role include:
  • Review building plans and prepare written comment letters on building design submittals.
  • Review plans for structural and/or non-structural disciplines.
  • Prepare and/or update company plan review policies and standards.
  • Perform short-term on-site plan review assignments.
  • Attend clients' and/or project team meetings.
  • Assist clients and project team by providing interpretations of building codes and related standards.
  • Assist the quality control team with plan review issues.
  • Assist the document control team with project information, status, and schedule.
Job Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • At least five (5) years of plan reviews, peer review and/or design experience in building structure.
  • Current registration as a civil, structural, mechanical, electrical engineer, or architect (the State of California preferred).
  • Certification as an ICC Building Plans Examiner is preferred.
  • An in-depth understanding of the California Building Standards Codes and related standards is essential.
  • Working knowledge of office computer software (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong verbal, and written communication skills and a problem solver.
  • Valid California driver's license.

$118,450.00 - $149,350.00 per year
