As a Surveyor based in the United States, you will play a critical role in measuring and mapping land boundaries to support construction, development, and legal property delineation. Your work will ensure accurate data collection and interpretation, which is essential for project planning, land ownership verification, and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and government officials to provide precise survey data that informs decision-making and project execution. The role demands meticulous attention to detail and the ability to operate advanced surveying equipment and software to produce reliable and legally defensible results. Ultimately, your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of infrastructure projects and the protection of property rights across diverse environments.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Valid Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or eligibility to obtain licensure in the United States. Proficiency in using surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS equipment, and levels. Experience with surveying software including AutoCAD, GIS, and data processing tools. Strong understanding of land surveying principles, boundary law, and relevant regulations.Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced certifications such as Certified Survey Technician (CST) or Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP). Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or construction projects. Familiarity with 3D laser scanning and drone surveying technologies. Knowledge of environmental regulations and their impact on land surveying. Strong project management skills and experience leading survey teams.Responsibilities:
Conduct field surveys using GPS, total stations, and other surveying instruments to collect accurate spatial data. Analyze survey data and prepare detailed maps, reports, and legal descriptions of land boundaries. Collaborate with project teams to interpret survey results and provide technical guidance on land measurements. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to land surveying and property boundaries. Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment to guarantee precision and reliability in data collection. Review and verify survey plans and documentation for accuracy and completeness before submission. Communicate effectively with clients, landowners, and government agencies to resolve boundary disputes and clarify survey findings.Skills:
The required skills enable you to accurately collect and interpret spatial data, ensuring that all measurements meet legal and technical standards. Proficiency with surveying instruments and software allows you to efficiently perform fieldwork and produce detailed maps and reports that support project planning and land management.
