# of Openings 1 Job Location US-VA-Gainesville Category Surveying Relocation Assistance No Service Line IES Job Description Dewberry is currently seeking responsible, highly motivated, and detail oriented individuals to join our Gainesville, VA office as a Survey Intern for Summer 2027. An Intern Surveyor must be able to work in a team environment as a member of a survey crew assisting in the performance of boundary, ALTA, topographic, right-of way acquisition, transmission line, transportation, land development and construction surveys utilizing the latest equipment and surveying technology.

Responsibilities Assist the field supervisor with all aspects of the daily crew workload

Work in a safe manner and obey all safety regulations

Ensure safekeeping of equipment

Ensure that vehicles are supplied and kept in an orderly fashion ready for duty Required Skills & Required Experience Currently pursuing an Associates or Bachelor's degree in Surveying or Civil Engineering, GIS, or Planning

Previous internship experience is a plus

Must have good Mathematical skills

Must have basic computer skills

Must have good communication skills

Must have a valid driver's license and ability to pass a driving record check

Must be physically able to work outdoors and on construction sites under all weather conditions; able to lift up to 50 pounds

Must be willing and able to travel for extended periods

Salary Range $18.75/hour - $29.75/hour. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. Program Information Summer Intern Program During the summer intern program, interns gain hands-on project experience, develop technical skills, and put their classroom knowledge into action. Our interns are assigned meaningful work and are given the opportunity to work on projects similar to what they would be engaging with as a full-time employee. Our interns get the opportunity to participate in a series of workshops and events, including: Networking opportunities to meet other interns, staff, and senior leaders across the business.
