Leak Check and Cold Test Technician CryoWest Inc. | Manufacturing and Quality General labor position | Starting pay $20.00 per hour | Training provided Position Summary The Leak Check and Cold Test Technician checks fabricated stainless steel tube assemblies, weldments, and manifolds using the test methods specified for each job. This entry-level role follows approved work instructions, records results, and works with production and quality teams to address failed tests. CryoWest will provide training on its equipment and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Review job travelers, drawings, work instructions, and acceptance criteria before testing each assembly. Prepare parts, fixtures, connections, gauges, and test equipment; check that required equipment is in calibration and ready for use. Perform leak checks and cold tests using the approved method and test parameters for the job, including pressure or vacuum testing when specified. Monitor test results, identify leaks or other failed conditions, and communicate findings to production, welding, and quality personnel. Identify parts requiring correction, maintain their status, and retest repaired assemblies as directed before release. Record test conditions, results, equipment details, and any nonconformances accurately on travelers, logs, or electronic records. Handle high purity components carefully to prevent damage, contamination, and mix ups; follow clean room practices when applicable. Keep the test area organized and follow safety procedures for pressurized systems, compressed gases, vacuum equipment, and required protective equipment. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior leak check or cold test experience is not required; training will be provided. Ability to follow detailed instructions, read basic drawings and part numbers, and document results accurately. Willingness to learn test fixtures, gauges, leak detection equipment, and computer entry; strong attention to detail and communication skills. Ability to work with production and quality teams and manage assigned work in a manufacturing environment.
