Job Description
Job Summary:
GML Utility Services Cooperative is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Rubber Goods and PPE Testing Technician. The technician will be responsible for the visual inspection, dielectric testing, and documentation of electrical rubber gloves and related protective equipment in accordance with ASTM standards. This role plays a critical part in ensuring worker safety by maintaining the integrity and compliance of high-voltage PPE used in electrical operations. The technician will ensure that all PPE (personal protective equipment) meets OSHA, ASTM, and NAIL (North American Independent Laboratories) standards.Key Responsibilities:
Clean and wash rubber goods and PPE in preparation for testing. Visually inspect gloves for physical defects such as holes, tears, cracks, or contamination. Perform dielectric (voltage) testing of rubber insulating gloves, sleeves, and other protective gear. Operate specialized glove testing equipment and maintain calibration of testing devices. Document test results accurately and maintain detailed records for compliance and traceability. Sort, label, and package gloves appropriately after testing (pass/fail). Assist with glove inventory management and customer-specific labeling or tagging. Pickup and delivery of rubber goods, PPE and tools at customer facilities. Vehicle provided by GML.Qualifications:
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures. Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate testing and measuring equipment. Good organizational and record-keeping skills. Must be able to work in a lab environment with exposure to high-voltage testing equipment. Prior experience in a utility, safety equipment, or testing environment preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.Pay:
