We are seeking a detailed-oriented Operations Test Technician to support the testing, quality control, and operational readiness of our machine vision systems. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates with a technical background who enjoy hands-on testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and working with electrical and vision-based systems.
You will work closely with engineering, operations, and customer support teams to ensure systems meet quality and performance standards before shipment.
Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive pre-release functional testing on all machine vision systems before shipment to ensure they meet Graftek's quality standards. Document detailed test results, ensuring accuracy and completeness for internal records and customer support. Generate clear and user-friendly documentation, such as user manuals, service manuals, and getting started guides, to assist customers in understanding and utilizing the products effectively. Diagnose and troubleshoot machine vision products using electrical schematics, collaborating with the development team to identify and resolve any issues. Conduct thorough quality control (QC) testing of systems before shipment, verifying performance under various operational conditions. Develop working knowledge of the cameras, lighting systems, and optical components used in machine vision technology, leveraging this knowledge to enhance testing processes. Document and maintain test procedures, ensuring that testing processes remain consistent and can be easily replicated by the team. Train customers on the operation and maintenance Graftek machine vision systems, ensuring they can effectively use the technology to meet their specific needs. Assist with support of vision systems covered under support contracts, providing technical expertise to resolve customer issues and maintain system performance. Create troubleshooting guides as needed, providing customers and internal teams with step-by-step instructions for resolving common issues. Prepare systems for final verification, packaging, and shipment to customer sites.
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or equivalent hands-on technical experience. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and tracing wiring in industrial electrical panels. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities, with a problem-solving mindset and attention to detail. Clear verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear documentation and effective collaboration. Ability to work in a fast-paced operations or manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience or knowledge in optics, lighting systems, or machine vision. Familiarity with hardware installation and troubleshooting on Windows-based computers. Basic understanding of Windows networking and related troubleshooting techniques. Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
