Job Description

Electrical Test Technician responsible for electrical testing, troubleshooting, inspection, and verification of industrial electrical equipment and control systems. Job Requirements Experience testing, diagnosing, and troubleshooting electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems. Proficiency with electrical test instruments, hand tools, and air tools in a manufacturing environment. Experience troubleshooting PLCs. Experience using computers to configure communications and test equipment. Knowledge of transformers, Wye/Delta connections, single-phase circuits, and three-phase circuits. Knowledge of protective relays and electrical control schemes. Ability to read and interpret electrical prints, wiring diagrams, engineering specifications, and test procedures. Experience inspecting finished equipment and verifying functionality against engineering and customer requirements. Experience working safely around energized electrical equipment. Ability to troubleshoot energized circuits with 120 volts present. Ability to work in environments involving electrical systems with voltages up to 200 kV. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and move throughout a manufacturing facility. Preferred Skills Experience with industrial power distribution equipment. Experience testing protective relay and control systems. Experience performing quality assurance inspections on electrical equipment. Experience with high-voltage electrical equipment. Experience in electrical manufacturing or industrial equipment environments. Job Responsibilities Perform electrical tests on industrial equipment and components. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and mechanical system issues. Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and related communications. Use electrical test instruments and manufacturing tools to verify system performance. Inspect finished equipment for workmanship, functionality, and specification compliance. Verify equipment meets engineering drawings, customer specifications, and test requirements. Read and follow electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, test procedures, and engineering documentation. Troubleshoot energized circuits in accordance with applicable safety procedures. Document test results, defects, and equipment issues. Support corrective actions for identified electrical or quality issues. Perform quality assurance inspections prior to equipment release.
Pay:
