- UNIT 252 At the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), we plan, build, maintain, and protect the transportation systems that connect communities, support commerce, and keep Louisiana moving.
NOTE:
Applications will be accepted from persons licensed to practice professional engineering in states other than Louisiana. If one of those applicants is selected for the position, he/she will be required to obtain a Louisiana license prior to appointment. The hiring agency will verify that all licensing requirements are met.NOTE:

Performs engineering work related to construction project delivery, field engineering, or construction oversight. Reviews plans, specifications, estimates, construction documentation, and project records. Monitors or assists with review of contractor work for compliance with DOTD standards, specifications, and contract requirements. Coordinates with contractors, project engineers, inspectors, consultants, and internal DOTD staff. Reviews quantities, documentation, payments, work zone information, or project-related materials as assigned. Supports construction certification, eConstruction, fabrication, field documentation, or final audit activities. Assists with resolving construction-related issues, technical questions, or project delivery concerns. Supports emergency or disaster response activities as needed.Position-Specific Details:

This position is part of a Career Progression Group and may be filled as Engineer 3, 4, or 5 based on qualifications and agency needs.Compensation:
These positions qualify for a Special Entrance Rate (SER). Engineer 3- SER at $ 3,083.20 biweekly Engineer 4
- SER at $3,529.60 biweekly Engineer 5
- SER at $3,776.
Appointment Type:
This position may be filled as either a probational appointment (open to all qualified applicants); a promotion (open to all statewide classified and Agency-wide permanent status employees); Job Appointment (temporary appointment in a classified position for a limit of four years); or by detail to special duty. [OR] This position is open to only current DOTD employees; and may be filled by detail to special duty.Additional Information:
