Job Description

Independently performs the review process for the Hydraulic Design Quality Assurance Unit for assigned projects. Reviews roadway hydraulic plans, bridge hydraulic plans, and hydraulic design studies for internal and external customers. Submits comments to Consultants and Internal Designers for quality assurance items related to Hydraulic Design. Provides assistance to other groups within the Hydraulic Design Support Group including verifying needs for Design Variances, identifying issues with NPDES requirements and NOI applications, and providing support for drainage requests from the Districts, and cross-training. Assists with providing support to various sections throughout the agency including Preconstruction, Construction and Maintenance regarding Quality Assurance. Provides assistance with reviewing encroachment permits and sand mining permits. Performs other related duties as assigned. A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management and three (3) years of engineering or construction management work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required. The physical demands for the essential functions involves sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods of time. This position may require occasional travel. May require bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, and kneeling. Walking for extended periods, treading rough terrain, working in close proximity to motoring traffic, and in natural environmental hazards. May be required to work outside normal business hours or respond to emergency situations.
