In this role, you will ensure that all systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will drive successful project delivery from initial system integration through final commissioning, supporting the reliable operation of utility electrical systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your engineering skills in a fast-paced environment dedicated to advancing energy sector solutions and public utility infrastructure. Responsibilities Develop comprehensive project schedules for system commissioning activities, coordinating with project teams to meet deadlines and milestones. Prepare detailed system schematics and technical documentation using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other CAD software to support installation and troubleshooting efforts. Conduct thorough testing and validation of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems, including AC/DC power systems, power electronics circuits, and power system protection schemes. Ensure compliance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC (National Electrical Safety Code), and relevant electrical building codes during all phases of commissioning. Implement IEEE standards for power system analysis, protection coordination, and system reliability to guarantee safe and efficient operation. Troubleshoot complex electrical issues across utility electrical systems, applying engineering troubleshooting techniques to resolve system faults promptly. Collaborate with project management teams to oversee project scheduling, resource allocation, and progress tracking throughout the commissioning process. Perform power systems analysis using MATLAB and GIS tools to optimize system performance and reliability in public utility environments. Verify high-voltage electrical installations meet safety standards while coordinating with construction teams during system integration phases. Document commissioning results through detailed reports, including schematics, test data, and compliance certifications for client review. Skills Extensive experience with project scheduling tools and methodologies to ensure timely completion of commissioning activities. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and CAD software for creating detailed electrical schematics and system layouts. Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC (National Electrical Safety Code), and relevant electrical building codes applicable to utility projects. Expertise in power distribution engineering, high-voltage electrical systems, and energy sector engineering standards. Skilled in power electronics circuit design, power system protection strategies, and power systems analysis using MATLAB or similar software. Familiarity with GIS applications for utility infrastructure planning and asset management. Experience with construction oversight, systems engineering principles, and troubleshooting complex electrical issues on large-scale projects. Ability to interpret technical schematics such as wiring diagrams and control schematics effectively. Strong understanding of mechanical knowledge related to electrical equipment installation and maintenance within utility environments. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
