Schedule:
12-hour day shifts (Overtime/Double-time compliant with CA labor laws) Position Overview We are seeking multiple Field Automation & Commissioning Engineers for a 100% on-site role to support the installation, debugging, and launch of highly integrated advanced assembly equipment and robotic cells in Fremont, CA. In this role, you will bridge the gap between hardware and software, ensuring production readiness through structured troubleshooting, parameter optimization, and technical validation.
Core Responsibilities Testing & Commissioning:
Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities; drive the technical commissioning of production equipment.
Controls & Troubleshooting:
Read, interpret, and perform minor adjustments/troubleshooting within Siemens PLC programs.
Diagnostics:
Perform physical electrical troubleshooting (and minor mechanical adjustments, such as sensor alignments) alongside control system fault analysis.
Process Optimization:
Define, optimize, and stabilize process parameters; conduct dry-cycle tests and oversee first-part production runs.
Quality Assurance:
Perform process capability and production readiness assessments; conduct deviation analyses to support structured problem-solving.
Qualifications & Skills Siemens Proficiency:
Proven experience reading and troubleshooting Siemens PLC platforms (e.g., TIA Portal, S7-1500/300) and understanding integrated system logic. Full-stack programming from scratch is not required.
Hardware & Systems:
Strong background in electrical troubleshooting and a solid understanding of automated assembly cells, sensors, pneumatics, and industrial networks.
Launch Experience:
Prior experience with machine commissioning, field debugging, or automotive/high-volume manufacturing equipment launches.
Stamina & Drive:
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced launch environment working a consistent 12-hour daily schedule.
Travel & Per Diem Per Diem:
$244/day for qualified travelers. Travel time is compensated for at the regular hourly rate. Personal vehicle mileage reimbursed at current IRS rate. Airfare provided when applicable, with rental car and fuel reimbursement.
