$48.00 - $52.00/hr Position Summary Our client is seeking a Senior RNG Engineer to support a growing fleet of Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) and Landfill Gas to Energy (LFGTE) facilities. This is an operations-focused role for a highly experienced engineer with deep knowledge of RNG plant systems, serving as a key technical leader across operations, maintenance, and project support. The role acts as a trusted partner to Operations Managers, driving plant reliability, maintenance strategy, and operational excellence across multiple sites. A key responsibility includes leading and supporting the transition of new and existing plants from construction and commissioning into fully integrated, steady-state operations. This is a high-impact, multi-disciplinary position requiring ownership, adaptability, and the ability to influence performance across a geographically diverse fleet. Responsibilities Provide technical support to RNG and LFGTE plant operations, monitoring systems and gas collection networks to optimise yield, quality, and uptime Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of operational improvements to enhance plant reliability and production Develop and optimise preventative and corrective maintenance programmes using Maximo (CMMS); manage spare parts strategy and asset reliability Lead the transition of RNG facilities from construction and commissioning into steady-state operations, including readiness plans, procedures, and system handoffs Serve as senior technical resource for Project Managers on plant upgrades, expansions, and commissioning; coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders Analyse performance, downtime, and maintenance data to identify trends and drive fleet-wide standardisation and continuous improvement Mentor engineers and site personnel; liaise across operations, engineering, and business teams to support long-term asset performance Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related) from an ABET-accredited programme

Senior Level:

5+ years of relevant experience in RNG, LFGTE, power generation, or similar industrial/process environments Strong expertise in plant operations, maintenance practices, and industrial equipment systems Experience with CMMS platforms, preferably Maximo, and maintenance programme management Demonstrated ability to lead troubleshooting and resolve complex operational issues Experience supporting plant startup, commissioning, or operational readiness transitions Ability to manage multiple sites and priorities in a field-oriented environment Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Knowledge & Skills Direct experience with RNG or landfill gas operations (preferred) Experience leading maintenance, reliability, or outage programmes (preferred) Familiarity with compressors, gas treatment systems, flares, and related equipment (preferred) Experience supporting commissioning and startup of industrial facilities (preferred) Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience (preferred) Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel and Power BI (preferred) Deep operational knowledge with a strong field presence Ownership mindset with the ability to drive issues to resolution Strong leadership and mentoring capability.
