Schedule:
Full-time, On-site We are seeking a Customer Quality Engineer to support an automotive manufacturing customer in the Savannah, GA area. This position serves as a key quality liaison between the customer and manufacturing operations, responding to quality concerns, investigating issues, coordinating containment and corrective actions, and helping ensure uninterrupted customer production. This is a hands-on, customer-facing position ideal for someone with automotive or manufacturing quality experience who is comfortable working directly on the production floor and responding quickly when quality issues arise. Responsibilities Serve as the primary quality contact for an automotive OEM customer Monitor and respond to customer production-line quality concerns Investigate defective or suspect components and initiate immediate containment actions Coordinate sorting, inspection and rework activities when necessary Lead and support root cause investigations and corrective actions using 8D, 5 Why or similar methodologies Review engineering drawings, specifications and dimensional requirements Perform or coordinate inspections using gauges, calipers and other measuring equipment Track quality performance including PPM, FTT, customer issues and corrective-action status Manage customer quality documentation and portal submissions Participate in customer meetings and communicate quality issues, risks and corrective actions Work with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve quality concerns and prevent recurrence Support DTC diagnostics and automotive troubleshooting activities Prepare quality reports and provide updates to management Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 3+ years of relevant hands-on automotive/manufacturing quality experience Experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing strongly preferred Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions and containment activities Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T Familiarity with dimensional inspection equipment such as gauges and vernier calipers Strong problem-solving and communication skills Ability to work directly with customers and respond quickly to production issues Experience with automotive quality systems and tools such as 8D, PPAP/ISIR, 5 Why, PPM or similar processes preferred CAN/DTC diagnostic experience, including CANape or similar automotive diagnostic tools, is highly desirable Must be able to work fully on-site in the Savannah, GA area Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Benefits Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, supplemental benefits, 401(k), paid time off and professional development opportunities.
