Job Description

Position Overview Epitec is seeking a Plant Vehicle Team Engineer (PVTE) - Body / Vehicle Quality Engineering for the largest U.S. automaker in Chicago, IL . This position is focused on plant-floor vehicle quality investigations, warranty analysis, root cause identification, containment actions, and corrective action implementation within a high-volume automotive assembly environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience leading quality investigations and driving production issues to closure in an OEM assembly plant.

Automotive Manufacturing Responsibilities Analyze warranty data, customer feedback, and vehicle failure trends. Perform warranty claim triage and issue categorization.
Conduct root cause investigations utilizing:
Plant-floor inspections Returned parts analysis Manufacturing process reviews Lead and implement: Interim Containment Actions (ICA) Permanent Corrective Actions (PCA)
Support:
Stop Ships Stop Builds Quality Campaigns Engineering Trials Running Product Changes Collaborate with: Manufacturing Supplier Quality Product Engineering Production Operations Track and report Vehicle Functional Group (VFG) quality metrics. Prepare engineering alerts and quality documentation. Present findings and corrective action plans to leadership teams. Validate corrective actions directly on the production floor. Requirements Required Bachelor's Degree. 3+ years of automotive manufacturing experience.
Experience within:
Plant Quality Vehicle Quality Warranty Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Launch Quality OEM assembly plant experience.
Direct experience independently leading:
Root Cause Analysis Corrective Actions Production Issue Resolution Strong Excel skills: Pivot Tables Lookups Trend Analysis Large Dataset Analysis Experience with: 8D Problem Solving 5 Why Analysis Fishbone Diagrams Experience implementing ICA and PCA activities.
Functional CAD navigation experience:
NX CATIA
Similar CAD systems Ability to work on the plant floor in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Automotive OEM experience. Tier 1 supplier quality experience. Body systems, closures, or vehicle structures experience. Teamcenter or other PLM tools. Warranty tracking systems. Launch support experience. Running product change experience.
