Job Description

Description Summary:
The Design Quality Engineer ensures that firearm designs and technical data meet rigorous quality standards. This role involves reviewing engineering designs, identifying risks with mitigation plans and driving continuous improvement based on test results and warranty data. Additionally, the position involves collaborating on supplier development and utilizing Quality Processes to drive sustainable results. The ideal candidate will guide teams to success. Work directly with Design Engineering, Supplier Quality and other key stakeholders in the creation of part prints to ensure clear expectations for design intent and changes. Work with internal and external engineers from concept to implementation of new designs. Support investigations into development and production issues with 8D and other Quality processes. Support and improve upon Quality processes and part workflow utilizing company software systems. Advocate for continuous improvement across design engineering, quality engineering and manufacturing practices. Analyze Warranty and Return data to improve and implement design change. Convert subjective design objectives into measurable technical specifications. Develop and maintain documentation for design and testing processes.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field with Quality Engineering experience. Experience reviewing prints, solid understanding of GD&T and inspection methods. Failure analysis experience and root cause identification techniques. Capable of working without direct supervision and leading small focus teams when required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to document and explain complex test results. Ability to handle and work with firearms and ammunition safely and responsibly.
