Job Title:
Process Quality Engineer Job Description Enhance customer satisfaction through effective management of customer complaints. Assist the internal Quality Engineering department with inspection resources for accurate defect detection and collaborate with Engineering to improve products and processes. Supervise the development, implementation, and verification of product and process compliance with internal and external quality standards. Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to drive continuous improvement and meet quality objectives. Ensure product and process conformity to internal, customer, and third-party regulatory requirements. Actively contribute as part of a highly integrated product line team. Responsibilities Participate in the improvement of manufacturing processes for existing products. Conduct studies to stabilize, validate, or enhance product and process capabilities. Perform capability studies to identify issues, provide solutions, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Analyze defective products or processes to determine root causes and contribute to corrective and preventive actions. Perform internal and external audits on products and processes to ensure compliance with specifications. Review and approve work instructions, inspection documents, change notifications, and quality alerts. Lead quality and customer complaint root cause investigations using the 8D methodology. Support Engineering in the qualification of new products, processes, or equipment through data collection and analysis. Support the implementation of IATF quality systems standards. Essential Skills Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field. Familiarity with ISO 9001 and IATF quality systems standards. 1+ years of experience in manufacturing. Working knowledge of statistical software like Minitab, Infinity, or JMP. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project. Understanding of TQ tools such as Brainstorming, Flowcharting, and Ishikawa Diagram Analysis. Knowledge of SPC, DOE, ANOVA, f & t-test analyses, and GR&R. Expertise in process capability studies. Additional Skills & Qualifications Certified Quality Engineer. Six Sigma training and experience. Knowledge of FMEA and Control Plan generation. Background in training. Experience in quality system auditing. Work Environment The successful candidate will be part of the Quality team within the Elastomeric Material Solutions (EMS) Unit. The team includes a Quality Manager, Quality Supervisor, two Quality Engineers, a Quality Engineering Assistant, and two Quality Technicians. The EMS business unit offers a broad selection of high-performance engineered materials, including advanced material solutions designed for high reliability and mission-critical performance. The Process Quality Engineer will report directly to the Quality Manager. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Glendale Heights, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
