Job Description SummaryAs a Lead Project Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for the Quality segment of GSI NAM from inquiry to order, order to remittance, including closeout & warranty on projects. This includes identifying, developing, & delivering documented quality deliverables for the project to the customer & supplier whilst ensuring GSI NAM's Quality program is thoroughly represented in all offerings. Supporting the project through inspections and factory acceptance testing, including working closely with suppliers and sub-contractors to deliver equipment and construction requirements. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment and site work deliverables are identified and communicated with suppliers & subcontractors for the related project's scope of work. In this role, you will use your experience or expertise to develop and deliver on quality requirements, solve problems, influence a quality-minded culture, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and be able to effect short-term and some long-term / business goals. You will ensure compliance to all quality requirements from Project Management process and GEV standards. You will foster Quality Assurance and Quality Control in all execution areas and assure we fulfill all contractual commitments provided to the Customer.
Overarching responsibilities include:
supplier engagement, engineering quality assurance, non-conformance and corrective / preventative action planning, quality audits and compliance, continuous improvement & lessons learned, as well as documentation management.

Job DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesLead project quality activities across ITO and OTR phases, ensuring compliance with project requirements, customer specifications, company standards, and applicable regulations.

Develop, implement, and maintain Project Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for project execution, supplier manufacturing, and site construction activities.

Partner with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to coordinate quality activities across customers, suppliers, subcontractors, engineering, procurement, and site teams.

Support and oversee FATs, inspections, customer visits, supplier surveillance, and project site visits to ensure quality requirements are met throughout execution.

Track project quality KPIs, manage deviations, non-conformances, customer complaints, and corrective actions, and drive issues through full resolution.

Perform and facilitate root cause analysis and continuous improvement using tools such as 8D, DMAIC, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, and CAPA methodologies.

Participate in project, engineering, procurement, and risk review meetings to identify quality risks and support mitigation planning.

Plan, conduct, and support project, process, supplier, and site audits, including validation of supplier quality plans and follow-up of audit findings.

Develop and deliver quality training, tools, and guidance, and serve as a subject matter expert for assigned quality processes and equipment.

Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, or Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.5-10+ years of experience in project quality, quality engineering, or quality management within high-voltage substations, transmission & distribution, EPC, or large infrastructure projects.

Experience developing and executing Project Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans, FAT/SAT activities, supplier quality oversight, and field construction quality programs.

Strong working knowledge of applicable standards and requirements, including IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NEMA, and ISO 9001.Experience managing non-conformances, CAPA, root cause analysis, audits, customer complaints, and continuous improvement activities.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, one-line diagrams, specifications, and technical documentation.

Technical familiarity with equipment such as transformers, switchgear, control panels, prefabricated/control buildings, cabling, welding, and fabrication.

Experience with quality tools and systems, including dashboards, NCR/CAPA systems, inspection and test planning, and advanced problem-solving tools.

Strong project management, communication, influence, and cross-functional coordination skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Power BI, SAP, document control systems, or similar tools.

Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 75%. Preferred QualificationsExperience leading quality activities on EPC projects.

ASQ or PMI certifications such as PMP, CPSQ, CQE, or CMQ/OE.Experience performing
ISO 9001
audits and supporting project or process audit programs.

Strong data analysis and reporting capability, including use of Pareto analysis and dashboard tools.

Experience training, mentoring, or guiding team members on quality processes, systems, and tools.

Physical RequirementsAbility to work in all weather conditions, including hot and cold environments.

Ability to stand, walk, lift, climb ladders, bend, kneel, stoop, and reach as needed on project sites.

Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including fire-retardant clothing when required.

Comfortable working around large and energized equipment.

The base pay range for this position is $90,200.00 - 150,400.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
