Job Description

Position Summary:
Lead and drive quality engineering initiatives focused on defect prevention, process control, and continuous improvement within manufacturing operations. Utilize data-driven analysis, root cause methodologies, and cross-functional collaboration to improve product quality, reduce variation, and strengthen quality systems. Partner with operations, engineering, and suppliers to ensure robust processes that meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Develop and maintain audit and testing programs to comply with vendor quality per customer requirements
  • Support supplier quality activities including issue resolution, corrective actions, and improvement initiatives
  • Participate in customer complaint investigations and ensure timely and effective resolution of quality issues
  • Analyze quality performance data (scrap, rework, FPY, defects) to identify trends, systemic issues, and improvement opportunities
  • Develop, implement, and improve process controls including work instructions, control plans, inspection standards, and error-proofing methods
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to ensure processes are capable, repeatable, and aligned with quality requirements
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement projects focused on reducing defects, improving yield, and increasing process stability
  • Lead structured root cause investigations using tools such as 3 legged 5 Whys, Fishbone, 8D, and data analysis to identify specific, detection, and systemic causes
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify effectiveness through measurable results
  • Explore and apply adaptions to machine or equipment designs to improve factory and production conditions.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues with a focus on long-term, systemic solutions rather than short-term fixes
  • Drive standardization across processes by identifying gaps in documentation, training, and execution, and implementing sustainable solutions
  • Identify, organize, and lead teams to resolve production and product issues.
  • Participate with a team of employees or contractors to explore ways to improve SAI processes.
  • Improves manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures, as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), including procedures, workflows, and training systems
  • Develop and maintain quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting systems to support data-driven decision making
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards (UL, NEMA), and drive improvements where gaps are identified
  • Assist in the preparation of written reports for all levels of management, detailing audit findings, conclusions, and agreed-upon corrective actions.
  • Assist in identifying and evaluating the organization's risk areas and provide input to the development of the Audit Plan

  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and defect prevention methodologies
  • Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office Applications (Access, Excel, Word, Access)
  • Proven experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and data-driven decision making
  • Experience with quality tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, Gage R&R, and statistical analysis preferred
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards to determine product conformance
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral
  • Proactive and self-motivated in accomplishing quality objectives.
  • Must be able to read, write and converse fluently in English with the level of competency that will permit the applicant to function in the position.
