Automotive PPAP & Quality Assurance Engineer

2024—and the customer-specific requirements that come with them? Can you translate warranty data into decisive corrective actions and communicate those actions across every level of the business? What you'll take on Uphold the Carlex Quality Policy and embed it in daily operations. Safeguard plant certification and compliance to IATF‑16949:2024, ISO 9001:2024, and customer-defined quality systems.Lead PPAP documentation:
Control Plans, DVP&R, PFMEA, and Standardized Work—owning updates and approvals. Track customer warranty metrics and supplier PPAP submissions; initiate responses and improvements promptly. Direct process audits and finished product inspections to verify capability and reliability. Co-develop internal quality control standards with Corporate Quality and the Quality Manager. Drive effective adoption of quality systems and procedures by all associates. Escalate and communicate significant quality issues throughout the organization. Cultivate partnership-style relationships with customers and suppliers. Collaborate with plant teams to resolve daily issues and elevate product and process outcomes. Travel occasionally to assembly plants for product reviews and customer collaboration. Apply knowledge of FMVSS‑205, ECER43, CCC, and related international testing/reporting/recordkeeping requirements. Qualifications Education (two pathways) BS in business, engineering, or related technical field; or High school diploma/equivalent plus 8+ years of relevant manufacturing quality experience. Experience thresholds 3+ years in manufacturing quality with a degree; or 8+ years in manufacturing quality with a high school diploma/equivalent. Certifications & training IATF Internal Auditor certification (required). IATF Lead Auditor (preferred). Core Tools training completed recently or within your first year. Methodologies & knowledge Working knowledge: Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Total Quality concepts, Six Sigma. Solid command of IATF and ISO standards with practical implementation experience in automotive Tier 1/Tier 2. Tools & competencies Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) at intermediate to advanced proficiency. Hands-on, analytical problem solver with excellent analytical skills.Committed to the Carlex values:
