AWS/CES is looking for a Quality Engineer - IATF 16949 Fort Wayne, IN Temp-to-Hire | Full-Time $52.00/Hour Day Shift Position Summary We are seeking a Quality Engineer - IATF 16949 to support and continuously improve the site's Quality Management System (QMS). This position will be responsible for ensuring compliance with
IATF 16949, ISO
9001, customer-specific requirements, and internal quality standards . The Quality Engineer will serve as a key resource for quality systems, internal and external audits, management reviews, corrective actions, customer requirements, and audit preparedness. This role will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, Materials, Human Resources, Supplier Quality, and Leadership teams to improve processes, maintain compliance, and drive continual improvement. Quality Management System. Ensure compliance with
IATF 16949
requirements, customer-specific requirements, and internal procedures. Manage quality system documentation, including procedures, work instructions, forms, process maps, and records. Review and implement changes to IATF requirements, sanctioned interpretations, and customer-specific requirements. Coordinate document control activities and ensure proper revision management. Internal & External Audits Corrective Actions & Continuous Improvement Management Review & KPI Governance Coordinate Management Review activities in accordance with IATF requirements. Maintain quality system metrics and reporting processes. Analyze quality KPIs, including: Audit completion and closure rates LPA completion and effectiveness Customer concerns Corrective action effectiveness Prepare executive summaries and leadership reports. Required Qualifications Associate's degree or higher in Engineering, Quality, Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent manufacturing and quality systems experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or Quality Systems. Experience supporting or maintaining an IATF 16949-certified Quality Management System . Experience conducting internal audits and supporting external audits. Experience with corrective actions, risk assessments, and process improvement initiatives. Knowledge of customer-specific requirements and AIAG Core Tools. Automotive manufacturing experience preferred. Technical Skills Thorough understanding of
IATF 16949
2016 Strong understanding of
ISO 9001
Knowledge of AIAG Core Tools:
APQP PPAP PFMEA MSA SPC
Control Plans Experience conducting System, Process, Product, and Layered Process Audits. Understanding of customer-specific requirements, including Ford and Stellantis. Strong root cause analysis and corrective action methodology skills. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and manufacturing standards. Strong analytical and statistical problem-solving abilities.
