Job Title:
Quality Engineer Job Description We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier that designs and manufactures metal-formed, welded, and assembled components for many of the world's largest automotive OEMs. This opportunity is based at a high-volume manufacturing facility that supports structural automotive products through advanced stamping, welding, and assembly operations. The plant is in a significant growth phase, with multiple tooling transfers, equipment installations, and new program launches, creating an immediate need for additional quality support. Responsibilities Respond to customer quality concerns and perform root cause analysis and problem solving. Support day-to-day quality issues on the production floor and drive corrective actions and containment activities. Work directly with operations and production teams to support tooling transfers, equipment launches, and production readiness activities. Develop and maintain Control Plans, PFMEAs, Process Flow Diagrams, inspection plans, and quality records. Investigate quality concerns, drive corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Conduct Layered Process Audits (LPAs) and support IATF quality standards. Provide hands-on quality support for production layouts, launch activities, and manufacturing readiness efforts. Essential Skills 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience within automotive manufacturing in a fast-paced environment. Extensive hands-on experience developing and submitting complete PPAP packages. Strong understanding of customer quality requirements and customer portal submissions. Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, PFMEA, Process Flow Diagrams, MSA, SPC, and Corrective Action Methodologies. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related technical discipline preferred. Automotive stamping, welding, or assembly experience is preferred. Experience supporting structural automotive components or vehicle frame/body systems. Familiarity with IATF, ISO, Layered Process Audits (LPA), and TPM initiatives. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Bad Axe, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00- $48.
