Job Description
- Controls Testing and Validation Associate Sr
- The Senior Control Testing and Validation Associate helps the bank maintain a robust risk and control framework, ensuring compliance with regulations, and protecting the institution from potential risks. The role is responsible for assessing and validating the bank's control processes, identifying vulnerabilities, and addressing issues as they arise.
- Key Responsibilities and Duties
- + Conducts thorough evaluations and testing of the bank's control systems, processes, and procedures within the first line of defense.
Identifies gaps, inefficiencies, and areas of improvement and analyzes the results of control testing and issue validation to identify control deficiencies, regulatory non-compliance, and potential risks within the organization.
+ Collaborates with relevant stakeholders to validate identified issues, ensuring accuracy, and completeness of issue documentation.
+ Performs in-depth root cause analysis to determine the underlying factors contributing to control failures and issues.
+ Remains current with relevant banking regulations, policies, and industry best practices to ensure compliance with all applicable standards.
+ Continuously assesses and improves the control testing and issue validation process to enhance the bank's overall risk management framework.
+ Coaches junior associates regarding controls testing and validating issues that require more advanced knowledge and experience.
- Educational Requirements
- + University (Degree) Preferred
- Minimum Qualifications
- + 5+ years of experience in risk management, controls testing, or validation within banking or financial services + Strong knowledge of control frameworks and regulatory requirements with demonstrated experience identifying control deficiencies and performing root cause analysis
- Preferred Qualifications
- + 7+ years of experience in risk management, controls testing, or validation, with increasing responsibility and exposure to complex control environments + Experience coaching associates regarding controls testing and validation
