Quality Engineer - Metal Fabrication & Manufacturing Why Join Us? Join our team as a Quality Engineer and take a lead role in driving excellence across our manufacturing operations. Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to ensure all metal fabrication processes meet internal quality benchmarks and customer standards. In this role, you will lead process inspections, drive root cause analysis, develop control plans, and ensure compliance with industry standards, including ISO 9001 and
IATF 16949
. Key Responsibilities Quality Control & Process Management Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes across metal stamping, welding, laser cutting, e-coat/powder coating, CNC machining, and assembly . Partner with Production and Engineering teams to integrate quality standards into product design and manufacturing workflows. Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement Investigate and resolve quality issues using root cause analysis tools ( 5-Why, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA ). Develop and execute Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) plans. Support and lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma continuous improvement initiatives. Audits, Compliance & Metrics Conduct internal audits and assist with external customer and registrar audits ( ISO/IATF ). Track and analyze key performance metrics, including PPM, scrap rates, rework costs, and customer complaints . Documentation & New Product Introduction (NPI) Create and update quality documentation, including PPAPs, FMEAs, Control Plans, and Work Instructions . Participate in new product launches ( APQP ) to ensure flawless execution and compliance.
Requirements & Qualifications Must-Haves:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field).
Experience:
3+ years of Quality Engineering experience within a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong background in metalworking processes (welding, stamping, machining, finishing).
Standards & Tools:
Direct experience with
ISO 9001, IATF
16949, PPAP, and APQP .
Blueprint & Inspection:
Proficient in reading engineering blueprints/technical drawings and operating inspection equipment ( CMM, calipers, micrometers ).
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and cross-functional communication skills.
Nice-to-Haves:
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer ( CQE ) or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt . Hands-on experience with Measurement System Analysis ( MSA ) and Statistical Process Control ( SPC ).
