Back Mechanical Reliability Engineer II Mechanical Engineer Contract 11420 Aug 18, 2026 Port Neches , Texas Join Our Team as a Mechanical Reliability Engineer II - Drive Excellence in Petrochemical Reliability! Are you a passionate mechanical engineer with a knack for troubleshooting, maintenance, and reliability improvement in critical industrial environments? We're seeking a dynamic Mechanical Reliability Engineer II to take charge of ensuring the optimal performance and safety of plant equipment at our Port Neches, TX facility. This long-term contract position offers a fantastic opportunity to apply your expertise, work on meaningful projects, and potentially transition to a full-time role.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory) 2-5 years of hands-on experience supporting rotating and fixed equipment within petrochemical, refining, or similar industrial facilities Strong technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance, including Condition Monitoring techniques such as thermal scanning, vibration analysis, and temperature trending Proficiency with CMMS systems, especially SAP Self-motivated with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently Nice to
Have Skills:
Experience leading Risk-Based Maintenance assessments Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance and asset management plans Familiarity with economic evaluation methods like Life-Cycle Cost Analysis and
NPV TWIC
certification or ability to obtain one Background in safety procedures and PPE use (FRC, safety boots, hard hats)
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering 2-5 years of relevant mechanical maintenance and reliability experience in petrochemical or refining environments Past involvement in turnaround projects, change management, and equipment repairs

Spur, Port Neches, TX Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM with flexible start times Potential for overtime as needed
