Hampton, Virginia job type: Contract salary: $42.86 - 60.00 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Conduct both non-destructive and destructive analyses (using microscopy, cross-sectioning, and X-ray inspection) on customer returns, manufacturing defects, and field failures.

Lead structured engineering problem-solving investigations utilizing established methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).Author clear, detailed technical reports documenting laboratory observations, diagnostic findings, and actionable, data-driven recommendations.

Partner with Product, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues, optimize yield, and reduce manufacturing scrap.

Feed failure mechanism findings back into DFMEA and PFMEA processes to support continuous improvement and prevent future reliability issues.
